Abu Dhabi -  Etisalat Digital, a business unit in Emirates Telecommunication Group (Etisalat), has entered a partnership with seven international startups from six countries, according to the Emirates News Agency (WAM).

The partnership is part of the global startup in-residence programme run by Dubai Future Accelerators (DFA), an initiative by the Dubai Future Foundation (DFF).

Aiming to connect startups with leading entities, the programme is hosted by the DFF’s innovation ecosystem, AREA 2071, and one of the initiatives under Etisalat Digital’s open innovation programme ‘FutureNow’.

The seven international companies that partnered with Etisalat Digital were selected among out of a pool of 143 applicants to the programme.

The executive director of Future Design and Acceleration at DFF, Saeed Al Falasi, said: "With Dubai Future Accelerators, we are building deeper relationships within the global startup ecosystem in collaboration with leading government entities in Dubai to find innovative solutions to business challenges across growing sectors."
