Aswan Governorates intends, before the end of 2020, to offer 25 investment opportunities in its tourism, hotels, commercial malls, and entertainment sectors, according to Hassan Amin, economic advisor to the Governor of Aswan.

Speaking to Daily News Egypt, Amin said that the investment cost of these projects is estimated at EGP 15bn. These investment opportunities will be offered in the heart of Aswan city, and in strategic locations to serve the other areas of the governorate.

He further revealed that Aswan Governorate plans to invest EGP 50bn over the next five years that will develop tourism and entertainment projects in the governorate. “We aim to offer 200 investment opportunities in the industry and tourism sectors with a total investment cost of EGP 50bn,” he stated.

During the “Investment Map in Egypt: Between modernization and development” conference, held by the Council of Arab Businesswomen on Saturday, Amin said that the volume of investment in the governorate’s mining and quarrying sectors is weak.

Amin also disclosed that the governorate plans to establish a 3,000 sqm hospital in the heart of Aswan. The hospital will be constructed on the site of the governorate’s old office, with further construction to take place to establish the “Lotus Aswan” tourist village on an area of 100,000 sqm. A further 4,000 feddan has been set aside for the construction of an entertainment area.

A medical centre will be constructed on 30,000 feddan, in addition to the establishment of a commercial mall on 4.5 feddan in front of the Aswan Airport, with investment opportunities offered to establish hotels on four feddan.

Moreover, work on four phosphate quarries with a total area of 200 feddan will be additionally offered, Amin revealed, adding that Aswan governorate has completed preliminary studies for all projects.
