Cairo –  Egypt's prime minister Mostafa Madbouly has met with representatives from companies manufacturing microbuses and minibuses to discuss the possibility of converting diesel-operated vehicles into natural gas-powered ones or gasoline-natural gas hybrids, according to a statement on Wednesday.

This move aims to reduce imports of diesel and make the best use of natural resources in a bid to cut down the country's expenditures, the statement added.

The Egyptian government plans to expand in establishing natural gas stations to support the conversion of vehicles including microbuses and minibuses to run on natural gas.
