To Promote Sustainable Development in Arab Region
Cairo, Egypt: Huawei, a world leader in providing ICT solutions, signed a memorandum of understanding with the Arab Information and Communication Technology Organisation (AICTO) to promote sustainable development in the Arab Region through ICT.
The signing ceremony was attended by Mr. Abdellatif Ebeid, Deputy Secretary General, League of Arab States (LAS), Mr. Noman al-Fahri, Minister of Communication Technology and Digital Economy, and Mr. Alan Xu, Huawei Vice President for North Africa.
Each of the partners expressed their commitment to promote ICT culture in the Arab Region, given that the common goal of such cooperation is to promote sustainable development via the latest ICT, and making such technologies available for the youth in the region.
Huawei and AICTO, through this agreement, launched the Huawei Seeds for the Future Programme to build a better connected world, and to assist AICTO member states in drawing their national strategies based on digital economy and building smart societies.
The agreement was signed by Mr. Said Shia, Huawei Tunisia CEO, and AICTO Secretary General in the ICT4All forum 2015, which was held in al-Hammamat City.
