Company commits to helping partners access and interpret information more quickly, accurately and securely during annual Seagate Partner Conference

Dubai - Seagate--a world leader in storage solutions--has outlined a renewed vision for its enterprise storage business in the Middle East focusing on how to help partners access and interpret information more quickly, accurately and securely. Such discussions took center stage at last week's annual Seagate Partner Conference hosted in Dubai and welcoming leaders from across the region's IT channel community.

Following a global rebranding campaign initiated at the start of this year, Seagate has set a focus on driving innovations in flash, systems, and solutions which collectively address the needs of a broader set of customers and partners in the Middle East. Central to that strategy will be Seagate building on its heritage in disk drive technology to create end-to-end solutions that fit the increasing needs and demands of a data-driven society.

According to Seagate executives speaking at the event, the world's storage space is quickly running out. Seagate estimates that by 2016 the hard drives housed in connected devices and in countless data centers worldwide will start to reach their limits. By 2020, there could be a capacity gap of over six zettabytes - nearly double all the data that was produced in 2013.

"We are entering a world where everything is connecting to everything else and the resulting big data is anticipated to solve virtually all our problems. Data has evolved from static information stored and forgotten to a living entity that drives every day interactions. Storage innovation must therefore focus on new systems and solutions which are faster, more reliable and expansive," says Christian Assaf, Senior Sales Manager MEA, Seagate.

Industry experts have largely recognized that data centers today are not equipped to handle the anticipated influx of data generated by the Internet of Things, nor are they geared towards feeding data smoothly to analytics platforms where it can prove added value. As a result, the latest partner conference included a series of technical workshops, solution demos and topical roundtables looking at how organizations in the region can better create, share and preserve their most critical business assets.

Conference participants also explored new update to the Seagate Partner Program in the Middle East. Today the program is open to resellers, distributors and system integrators through which members can co-create tools that focus on increasing their customer's service satisfaction, lowering their cost of doing business, and accelerating their time to market of storage solutions.
