Evolving Managed Services from network-oriented to service & experience-oriented, and from OPEX saving to value creation, set as top priorities for 7th Managed Services Growth Markets Congress 2015

Middle East - As telecom service providers worldwide strive for greater operational efficiency, Huawei--a leading global ICT solutions provider--is setting forth a roadmap for helping regional operators to become more agile, flexible, and adaptable through leveraging a new era of Managed Services to transform their IT operations.

Those discussions will take place with many of the world's top service providers, technology vendors and consultancy firms during this week's Managed Services Growth Markets Congress 2015, organized by Informa Telecoms & Media and with Huawei as the Lead Sponsor.

Today, the concerns over the rapid growth of broadband traffic are encouraging telecom operators to look not only at technology upgrades, but also new governance models for ICT outsourcing. Market intelligence firm IDC notes that CIOs and IT managers in the region are under constant pressure to create capacity for strategic IT projects as the availability of skills remains a major challenge.

Speaking at the Congress, Dr. Leroy Blimegger - Senior VP of Huawei Global Services and Head of Assurance and Managed Services, noted that the expectations of ICT are changing from just keeping business running to supporting overall business growth and promoting innovation within the digital area. As a result, more and more service providers are teaming up with outsourcing partners who understand the telecom business and have complete capabilities to fully support ICT transformation.

"In the digital era, operators need to become more agile, flexible, and adaptable to the ever-changing needs that consumers are demanding of telecom services. A clear IT transformation strategy will give operators the ability to meet these ambitions and in turn drive their own businesses forward," saysMr. Zhou Qingwei, VP of Regional Delivery & Service at Huawei Middle East.

Several of Huawei's top global and regional experts in the field of Managed Services will present at the Congress while also hosting several exhibitions and partner workshops in areas such as software-defined networking and network function virtualization. These areas will be particularly important as operators look to gain quick access to resources from around the world while not having to invest in the creation and management of wholly-owned infrastructure.

Huawei Managed Services Transformation
Huawei is refining its own carrier business strategy wherein the company is attaching equal importance to the development of both products and services offered to telecom customers. To that end, Huawei will steadily increase its investments in services to provide customized solutions that suit the requirements of operators at different stages of development. During its 2015 Global Analyst Summit, Huawei even announced plans to invest $350 million over three years in new consulting and systems integration methodologies, tools and platforms for network and data center transformation.

Huaweihas been actively evolving from a traditional Managed Services provider to a next-generation Managed Services partner through a service &experience-oriented focus, and from OPEX saving to value creation. As a leading Managed Services Provider, Huawei has achieved global best practice recognition in the delivery of cost-effective, transparent and secure operations for multi-network, multi-vendor and multi-technology centralization projects around the world for a diverse range of operators.

Today the company provides Managed Services to 23 of the top 30 global telecom operators managing over 150 networks in 80 countries.Huawei major Managed Services contracts in Middle East include agreements with STC, Zain, Ufone, VIVA, and Mobily. The Assurance and Managed Services business unit is supported by three Global Network Operation Centers in Romania, India and Mexico, two Joint Innovation Programs, three Managed Services Centers of Excellence, and 28 Field Service Centers.
