The total number of guests in the three- to five-star category in Oman fell by 23.5 per cent at the end of March to stand at 298,885 guests compared to 390,642 guests for the same period of 2020.
 
According to the latest monthly statistics released by the National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI), the total revenues of these hotels also fell to RO21.274 million ($55 million) in March 2021, compared to RO53.747 million ($139.2 million) during the same period of the previous year, marking a drop by 60.4 per cent.
 
Among the nationalities, the Omani guests constituted the highest number of visitors with 85.1 per cent to stand at 208,404 guests compared to 112,609 guests in the same period in 2020. This was followed by Asian guests (44,506), European guests (13,257), Arab guests (excluding GCC countries) at 12,423 and American guests (5,199).
 
The number of GCC guests reached 4,104 followed by the Oceanian guests (2,090), Africans (1,192 guests) and 7,710 guests from other nationalities. - TradeArabia News Service
