Muscat, Oman's first co-location and managed services provider in Oman, has announced that it is delivering a Managed Disaster Recovery Hosting Solution to National Life and General Insurances Company (NLIC) as part of a recent collaboration between the two companies.

The Signing Ceremony with NLIC was held at Oman Data Parks' (ODP) head office at Knowledge Oasis Muscat on 15th April 2015.

In the event of a disaster affecting the IT network of NLIC, Oman Data Park will ensure that it experiences no disruption to its IT services. Oman Data Park offers NLIC IT back up as well as disaster recovery services with the added benefit of the entire process being managed and maintained. Oman Data Park also incorporates a Service Level Agreement (SLA) as part of its solution to ensure that all data is protected and maintained thus decreasing any risk to the business of NLIC.

Speaking about the partnership, Mr. Venkat, CEO, NLIC commented 'Oman Data Park has provided us with a safe and cost effective solution to ensure that applications which are critical to our business are adequately protected in the event of a disaster occurring. Knowing that we are prepared in the event of a disaster to ensure that our customers and business can continue with minimum impact is very comforting'.

'We at ODP honor our partnership with NLIC. I'm also proud to say that ODP being the first CSP (Cloud Service Provider) has managed to add a value to the Omani market by introducing a rich cloud service portfolio where corporates can benefit the IT cost saving aspects with a great performance enhancement and allow corporates to focus more on their core business. Today we are providing to NLIC DRaaS (Disaster Recovery as a Service) in a private cloud topology which is part of ODP cloud service offerings. Successful organizations such as NLIC, who have a steady customer base, need to have a plan in place in the unfortunate event of a disaster so that it does not experience any IT downtime which could affect its customers. Our Disaster Recovery Plan ensures that there is zero disruption to customers. It is managed entirely by our team here at Oman Data Park and is a very valuable business asset'[MB1] said Mr. Maqbool Al Wahaibi, General Manager, Oman Data Park.

"We believe Business Cloud Adaption continues to rise, we are expecting continued growth to all primary cloud services segments; SaaS, PaaS and IaaS at a promising rate.  CIOs and IT managers are keen to embrace business technologies that automate tedious routine system administration tasks, so that they can redirect their focus to higher-priority activities. When companies start relying on cloud-based services, they no longer need complex disaster recovery plans." said Parvez Husain, Head of Business Development, Oman Data Park

This signing ceremony paves the way to a series of agreements that Oman Data Park will be signing with some of the biggest corporates in Oman.

Oman Data Park continues to develop customized solutions to address the needs of the marketplace, Colocation, IT Managed Service, Cloud Services and managed security services.
