Organisers calls on more Qatar-based businesses to participate and learn more about internal State security concerns and solutions as Qatar Rail, WOQOD, and Hemaya Security Services make up early list of confirmed participants

Doha, Qatar - August 17, 2014: As risks, threats, and issues as well as solutions regarding internal State security have a huge impact on business and commercial activities, some of Qatar's major players in the oil & gas and transport sectors have already confirmed their participation to one of the world's most influential trade exhibition dedicated to internal State security - Milipol Qatar 2014.

Scheduled to take place from October 20 to 22 at Doha Exhibition Center, the exhibition has achieved international reputation since its first edition in 1996 and has established itself as the main platform for Qatar and the region for internal security requirements. At every edition of Milipol Qatar, some of the world's leading manufacturers and service providers come together and present their latest innovations to security sector professionals from many regional and international countries.

With big names such as Qatar Rail and WOQOD participating for the first time, as well as Hemaya Security Services all set to take part at the 10th staging of the biennial event, Brigadier Nasser Bin Fahad Al-Thani, President of the 2014 Milipol Qatar Committee, continues to sound the call for more Qatar-based businesses from all other economic sectors to likewise participate at the event and avail of the opportunity to play an active role in internal State security matters as well as to be kept well-informed on the latest internal security issues and concerns. In addition, the event will also keep participants up-to-date on the most advanced technology and solutions from an impressive and global line-up of internal State security experts and exhibitors.

"Keeping people and property protected and safe from any potential security risk or threat is no longer just the sole concern and responsibility of the State," said Brigadier Nasser Bin Fahad Al-Thani. "Today's rapidly evolving and fast-paced societies necessitate that every stakeholder must be vigilant and prepared for any potential security threat.

"They must be well aware of the risks involved and equipped with the latest and most advanced solutions that either minimise or prevent such risks from happening, which may often result in injury or loss of life and damage to property," he added. "The importance and significance of having more Qatar-based participants at this event is not only on the business opportunities it presents but also in the sharing of knowledge, information and expertise on internal security which we can all learn from."

Vital installations of a State, such as its mass transport sector, are acknowledged globally as a potential target of any internal security threat. As such Qatar Rail, as the owner and manager of Qatar's rail network and responsible for the design, construction, commissioning, operation and maintenance of the entire rail network and systems in the country, will be participating at the event in order to highlight and share their expertise in keeping Qatar's rail network safe and secure, during which it will give a presentation for importers concerned in safety systems.

On the other hand, with Qatar's vast oil and gas resources being the largest contributor to its overall economy and responsible for the country's highest per capita incomes in the world, WOQOD participation at the event signifies their strong commitment and intention of being actively involved in keeping Qatar's most important resource and its workers safe and secure at all times.

Meanwhile, Hemaya Security Services, who will be showcasing locally-based skills, knowledge and expertise in offering internal security solutions, will be also providing Milipol Qatar with their security services.

"The exhibition plays an important role in developing internal security infrastructure, as well as in the further creation of economic benefits in terms of capital resources diversification. Having been held in Qatar for two decades now, this proves the stability that this nation enjoys and places the country on the world map," concluded Brigadier Nasser Bin Fahad Al-Thani.
