The 10th Middle East Retail Banking Forum & Expo will address the key issues affecting the regions banking industry

The evolution of financial services is moving away from the traditional brick-and-mortar bank branches towards nonphysical branches, with trends favoring internet / mobile banking over branch banking. The Middle East is witnessing a massive growth in the sales and penetration of smartphones, with the region expecting to see a 39% increase during 2015. You can see that the future of banking will revolve around having quick and easy payments and transactions that can happen 24/7.

There is a school of thought which says that we do not need bank branches anymore, just banking services, but is the Middle East prepared to adapt to this change towards branchless banking? With a high penetration of smartphones and easy access to the internet you would think so.

This is just one of the many issues which will be debated and discussed during the 10th Middle East Retail Banking Forum and Expo taking place on 6 - 7 April 2015 at the Ritz Carlton, DIFC. Celebrating a decade of addressing the key issues within the region's banking industry, this year's event is set to surpass all previous additions with more than 25 industry gurus and 1000 attendees likely to speak and walk through the doors over the 2 days.

Alex Heuff, Exhibition Director commented "These are exciting but challenging times for the region's banking industry. There are so many new technologies being introduced to the market whether it be in the arena of contactless payments through to online banking. But all these new technologies bring along serious issues and concerns around security and fraud. How do we make mobile and online banking safe? These are just some of the key issues that the 10th Retail Banking Forum and Expo will address and I am excited to see and hear what our speakers and exhibitors have to offer".

Key topics covered over the two day event will include: Crafting the ideal Digital Strategy; Penetrating Emerging Markets; The UAE Mobile Wallet Project; Online & Mobile Banking; The Mobile Channel; Decentralized Digital Currencies, Investing in Customer Loyalty and many more.
