BisB Appoints First Woman BOD Secretary

Bahrain Islamic Bank (BisB) has announced the appointment of Mrs. Nada Ishaq Abdul Karim Executive Secretary to its Board of Directors.

The appointment of the first Bahraini woman in this position,  since the bank's inception, comes within the Bank's strategic plans which aim at nurturing Bahraini personnel and qualifying them to fill senior administrative positions. It is also in line with Ishraq" Initiative- Back to Basics 2016.

Commenting on this appointment, Mr. Hassan Amin Jarrar, BisB CEO said: "We are pleased to announce the appointment of Mrs. Nada Abdul Karim in this important position, becoming the first woman to fill this position throughout the Bank's history. We appointed her based on her academic qualifications and practical experience of 16 years, during which she held administrative positions related to banking and business in the Kingdom of Bahrain."

Mr. Hassan Jarrar added: "Mrs. Nada Abdul Karim's appointment in this position is part of our continuous support for qualified Bahraini women and out of our conviction of the importance of investing in our employees and in promoting their talents & skills and capabilities. It will also encourage Bahraini personnel who have skills and competency, and it is part of the implementation of one of the pillars of "Ishraq" Initiative- Back to Basics, which the bank launched during the first Town Hall meeting in March 2016.

Mr. Hassan Amin Jarrar concluded: "On this occasion, we congratulate Mrs. Nada Abdul Karim and we wish her success in her new position. Meanwhile, we reiterate our support and backing for her in order to realize the sought results."
