Cairo, Egypt - A meeting was held a few days ago between the Mauritanian President, Mohamed Ould Abdulaziz, and Huawei VP Guo Tianmin. The presidential delegation, having visited the Hoawei's Northern Hall, discussed with their counterparts means of promoting ICT cooperation.

President Abdulaziz hailed Huawei's role at the global economic level, in terms of developing business processes, research, and innovation, as well as the impact of such development and other circumstances on the Mauritanian economy. He also extended his deep thanks to Huawei for its contributions in the global ICT market, wishing it more success in Mauritania, given the support of the Government.

Guo Tianmin stressed the significant role rendered by ICT in boosting economic growth in the country, hoping that the Government would put more effort in developing the ICT sector and increasing investments. He added that Huawei was fully ready to support the planning and implementation of the national ICT strategy to raise the informational level in public and governmental agencies, promote local economic development, support more ICT skills, and other contributions.

Ever since Huawei has entered the Mauritanian market in 2004, it has been a strategic partner of the three local operators. Moreover, it cooperated with several countries, establishing many vital projects, in addition to providing its clients with experience in high quality voice communications and mobile data. Similarly, Huawei shoulders social project responsibilities proficiently, and continues to train skilled ICT professionals, that they now account for 85%.
