However, given the large scope of the program and its depth, it is important to focus on the high yield material that is the basis of the pre-conference course. While, the main program helps the clinician, the pre-conference course focuses mainly on the trainees and those who have been in practice, but seek a refresher of need to know material."

Commenting on his participation in the pre-conference courses, Dr. Clay J. Cockerell, Clinical Professor of Dermatology and Pathology at University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center and President of Cockerell Dermatopathology Laboratories said: "I am very excited to share new developments in the diagnosis and treatment of a number of different cutaneous disorders, ranging from melanocytic neoplasia to inflammatory skin diseases with my colleagues in the Gulf Region."

Moreover, Dr. Reem El Bahtimi, Medical Director, Consultant Pathologist and Director of Dermatopathology at the National Reference Laboratory said: "I have been involved with Dubai Derma pre-conference courses for the past 10 years. It is my honor to be part of this 4 day course that is highly recommended and acknowledged by the dermatologists in the ME region. In my session, I will be focusing on Dermatopathology, which is the study of skin pathology. Dermatopathology plays a crucial role in understanding the pathophysiology of diseases, and in managing and treating patients. Knowledge in dermatopathology allows the dermatologist to take the right biopsy, understand the pathology report with its limitations and challenges as well as treat the patient appropriately."

Dr. Reem El Bahtimi added: "The Dermatopathology pre-conference course covers various topics from basic inflammatory conditions to Melanocytic, Adnexal and Lymphoproliferative disorders. Three speakers usually participate in the Dermatopathology module and we try to cover as many topics as possible without repetition from year to year."
