Exchanges expertise and coordinates efforts for sustainable development in the region

Dubai - As part of its efforts to enhance cooperation ties and to exchange expertise and information on the optimum use of mutual services and initiatives, the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry hosted a delegation from Saudi Arabia's Abha Chamber of Commerce and Industry at its head office recently.

The nine-member delegation, headed by Eng.Saleh Hussain Qada, Vice- Chairman and, Dr.Khalid Saeed Almaker, Vice-Chairman, Abha Chamber of Commerce and Industry, was received by Mr.Atiq Juma Nasib, Senior Vice-President, Commercial Services Sector, Dubai Chamber.

Welcoming the visiting delegation, Mr.Nasib stated that the UAE enjoys a very cordial relationshipwith Saudi Arabia which is the top-most trading partner of Dubai in the GCC region with Dubai Chamber members' exports and re-exports to the countryin the first quarter of this yearamounting to AED 28.9 billion, which is 38% of the global total during the same period.

He further stated that this latest visit by the Abha Chamber officials is part of Dubai Chamber's efforts in sharing its diverse experiences and initiatives with its Saudi counterparts while also enhancing bilateral ties with the regional chambers.

The Senior Vice-President of Commercial Services Sector at Dubai Chamber informed the visitors about the Chamber services and best business practices in serving the customers through ATA Carnets, organisation of global events and hi-tech services including 100% electronic and 60% smart services offered to its customers.

Also, various department heads at Dubai Chamber gave introductory presentations on the services offered to entrepreneurs, customers and traders including e-commerce services, CSR, CorporateCommunication andMarketing, International Relations and many more.

On his part, Eng.Saleh HussainQada, thanked Dubai Chamber for hosting the Saudi delegation and sharing its experiences and wealth of knowledge with regional Chambers while lauding the Chamber's commitment inoffering world-class servicesto the multinational business community in the emirate and the region.

He expressed his desire in benefiting from Dubai Chamber's success story in various areas of operations and called upon the Chamber to organise training courses for his staff and to visit the Aseer region of Saudi Arabia to discuss strengthening of cooperation ties in various fields.

The delegation also toured the Chamber's head office and was briefed about the benefits of its eco-friendly building which has been awarded the LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Platinum certification as first existing green building in the region as well as other services, especially quick issuance of certificates of origin and other related commercial documents offered to the customers on a daily basis.
