uniBuy, a B2B free-to-use platform debuts in the region after successful adoption in UK and Australia

Dubai - Dubai-based DUC Consulting International and United Kingdom's cloudBuy have announced today the launch of the Middle East version of uniBuy.com, a free at point of use Universal Global Marketplace for the Education Sector that covers all procurement and purchasing activities under a single infrastructure.

Speaking of the launch, Ms Fatima Hayat Board advisor of cloudBuy and COO of DUC International Consulting said: "As UAE is among the most Smart countries, we are very happy to announce a full automated and transparent way for Education sector' This will enable SME and multinational organisations to interact and get business from Educational institutions."

Developed by cloudBuy, a software house and integration specialist, uniBuy is based on a tried and tested eCommerce transactional platform.

"uniBuy is our attempt at making universities smart. It promotes transparency on all purchases, resulting in improvements in product and service pricing re-negotiations. We are excited to bring this technology to the Middle East region and give the education sector here the opportunity to experience the same benefits that universities and colleges in other regions have been enjoying," said Sharlene Jobson, Global Solutions Director, Education of cloudBuy UK.

In other markets where uniBuy has been deployed, several institutions have reported savings of between one and three FTEs (full-time equivalents) since they don't have to recruit expensive contract resources to monitor and manage the procurement and purchasing processes.

As an eMarketplace, uniBuy allows suppliers to upload their products and services at standard rates, giving educational institutions and their students a chance to purchase and conduct transactions securely.

Andy Smart, Deputy Head of Procurement at University of Reading said: "The eMarketplaceallows members of staff to view the pricing from different contracted suppliers, allowing buyers to compare and obtain the best deal."

Steve Butcher FCCA, Head of Procurement at Higher Education Funding Council for England added: "It allows competition to take place in a controlled environment, which reduces maverick spend, drives down costs and keeps process costs to a minimum."

About cloudBuy UK
cloudBuy:thesmart online procurement and purchasing technology hub

cloudBuy,a software house and integration specialist, started out with a vision to create a smart singlesecure eCommerce platform that could serve all of a company's eCommerce needs, regardless of their characteristics, bringing together buyers and sellers.

The smart B2B eCommerce engine for suppliers was built first followed by the smart enterprise procurement capability and standard ERP integration for large buyers; as well as a host of other smart procurement and purchasing related services.

cloudBuy's supplier focus is very different from everything that has seen in the procurement sector, where buyers have historically and expensively managed catalogues behind their firewalls.

As transactional specialists cloudBuy knows that this historical catalogue approach will not scale to cover everything that an organization buys. Given this the only viable way forward is through the application of B2B eCommercewhich addresses all of the complexity generated by real companies doing business with multiple clients in real time.

The cloudBuy smart community of buyers and sellers buy and sell at theircontracted prices, removing the margin for error and thus deliver financial benefits.

This community of smart buyers has grown as the network has become global, validating the cloudBuy vision.
