Contactless payment solutions from Bank of Bahrain and Kuwait

MANAMA: BBK has launched Fitbit Pay and Garmin Pay contactless payments for its debit cardholders as part of a collaboration with Visa, Fitbit and Garmin.

The new service will enable secure contactless payments via NFC-enabled point of sale (POS) machines and other locations using compatible Fitbit and Garmin wearables in Bahrain and abroad.

Dr Adel Salem, general manager of retail banking at BBK, said: “At BBK, we strive to offer our customers the latest trends and services that will enable them to perform their banking transactions conveniently and safely using their smart mobile devices. We are excited to embark on this new and exciting partnership with Visa to offer our customers a unique banking experience through Fitbit Pay and Garmin Pay.”

The Fitbit Pay app is available on select wearables, including the Sense, Versa 3, Versa 2 smartwatches, and Charge 4.

The Garmin Pay app is available on 50 Garmin Pay compatible watches including the MARQ or Fenix-series, Descent MK2, Forerunner 945 and 745, Venu and Vivoactive.
