Riyadh – Mubasher: Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF), the sovereign wealth fund, has invested up to $400 million into CloudKitchens, a new food startup founded by Travis Kalanick and owned by Uber, the Wall Street Journal reported.

PIF’s agreement with CloudKitchens was completed in January.

CloudKitchens is specialised in building commissary kitchens for restaurants wanting to prepare food exclusively for delivery services for trademarks and brands.

It also operates its own delivery-only restaurants in the commissaries.
