Dubai, UAE : Schneider Electric will be showcasing a range of technologies that are designed to help food and beverage brands both improve their manufacturing efficiency and productivity as well as ensure food safety at Gulfood Manufacturing. The company will be demonstrating how digitization can transform every aspect of F&B manufacturing and supply chains, from the production line to the checkout.

Held from the 7th to the 9th November at the Dubai World Trade Center, Gulfood Manufacturing is the biggest food and beverage processing and packaging industry event in the Middle East, Africa and South Asia, which brings together thousands of professionals from the food industry to discuss the latest trends. Topics under debate will include how to make the industry more resilient, the role of sustainability and how best to use technology and digital tools to improve operations.

Schneider Electric’s Mike Jamieson, global segment president for the consumer packaged goods industry, will be speaking about the climate risks the industry is facing and how “climate-smart” agricultural practices will help the industry innovate and become more sustainable during a period of significant climate change. At the exhibition the company will be hosting a number of demos from AVEVA, ETAP, ProLeiT and Schneider Electric on manufacturing efficiency and food security, to help manufacturers understand how they can implement end-to-end traceability not only in their own factories but across their supply chain processes, too. Visitors can also see how new technologies from Schneider Electric can enable simple product information management (PIM), food packaging serialization, and automated label assurance processes.

“The industry is facing a number of key challenges, and we are here to help them turn these issues into opportunities for growth and expansion,” said Jamieson. “The pandemic showed how fragile supply chains can be, and governments are realizing the need to develop food industries closer to and in the region. Our solutions can help here, especially for agritech concepts such as food factories which require significant amounts of water and electricity for the lighting and pumps. But the biggest gains can be had from digitization which allows manufacturers to adapt quickly, providing flexibility, agility, resiliency and visibility across supply chains.”
