Muscat — In partnership with the Ministry of Health (MOH) and Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre (OCEC), talabat, the GCC’s leading food delivery app, has offered over 3,000 free meals to health-care employees and volunteers working at the National Vaccination Centre (NVC). Around 350 meals were provided every single day for a duration of 9 days, from a selection of some of Oman’s most popular dining outlets including Cake Creations, Pizza Hut, Burger Garage, Go Koshary, Kabsa Station, Magboos Kuwaiti and Karak Gholam. The initiative, part of talabat’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program, aimed to support the Sultanate’s efforts to combat COVID-19 by increasing the nation’s vaccination levels.

Mohamed Zourob, Managing Director of talabat Oman, said, “Front-line healthcare workers in Oman have been risking their lives since the start of the pandemic in order to ensure that people are being vaccinated. Providing them with a meal to re-energize them and keep them motivated was the least we could do.”

Eng. Said Al Shanfari, Chief Executive Officer at the Oman Convention & Exhibition Centre added, “The OCEC is proving once more its ability to cater to varying numbers of visitors by hosting the National Vaccination Campaign for the past two months. There are thousands of people receiving their vaccination on a daily basis, and we thrive to ensure that their experience is seamless. Our volunteers play a key role in delivering the experience. We have ventured in multiple partnerships, including that with talabat to provide catering services to over 250 volunteers on a daily basis. The event is still ongoing and the service continues at the OCEC to offer all stakeholders a memorable experience.”

talabat allows customers to search for and order a whole range of products from fresh food and groceries, to flowers and gifts, with fast and reliable delivery right to their doorstep. The talabat app is available for download on Apple App Store, Huawei AppGallery, and Google Play.
