Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates: talabat, the region’s leading online food delivery and q-commerce platform, is proud to announce that it has extended its operations to Zayed City in the Al Dhafra region in Abu Dhabi, bringing ease, convenience and speed in online food and grocery delivery to customers and vendors.

As the first online delivery platform to launch in the Al Dhafra region, talabat has onboarded over 50 vendors in Zayed City, and plans to expand to the rest of the Al Dhafra region with the goal of serving over 100,000 customers and 150 vendors by the end of the year.

The expansion to the western region of the capital comes as part of the organisation's ongoing efforts to support existing partners that can benefit from its services, as well as provide an incentive for SMEs to venture into Al Dhafra region.

Jeremy Doutte, Vice President UAE at talabat commented: “We are proud to be the first online food delivery platform to launch in Al Dhafra region. Customers have been reaching out to us through our different channels in the past few months to launch in this region, and, after studying the market and having conversations with some of our partners, we decided that this was the right time to introduce our online delivery services starting with Zayed City. We will also be launching in the rest of Al Dhafra region by the end of the year.”

He added: “The UAE has been at the forefront of the food and beverage industry which has been strongly recovering since last year. By expanding our delivery services to areas outside of the cities, talabat is accelerating the growth of the industry in the UAE and bringing partners closer to customers who can enjoy the ease, convenience, speed and variety of online food delivery and grocery shopping. We hope that this step will present a greater economic impact and provide established businesses and SMEs with the support they need to expand and introduce their offerings in the Al Dhafra region, in addition to the tools they need to help them thrive in today’s digital world and maximise their reach.”

Customers in Zayed City can enjoy ordering from a variety of restaurants and cuisines, in addition to grocery stores including ADNOC Oasis - the UAE’s largest fuel and convenience retailer - and pharmacies on the talabat app.

The talabat app can be downloaded on the iOS App Store, Google Play Store or Huawei AppGallery.
