Emirates and Flydubai have reactivated their codeshare partnership following the resumption of flights on various routes worldwide.
The move will offer customers of the two Dubai-based carriers seamless connectivity with just one ticket, as well as more travel convenience and flexibility.
In a statement on Monday, Emirates said its customers can now book codeshare flights to more than 30 destinations on Flydubai, while the budget carrier’s passengers can choose from more than 70 places to visit on Emirates.
There will be additional destinations under the codeshare deal that will be revealed soon, as travel restrictions have eased and airlines are looking to attract passenger traffic.
“Our customers can once again take advantage of the complementary strengths of Emirates and flydubai to access an enhanced network of cities on a single ticket and integrated loyalty programme, enjoy a safe, smooth and stress-free transfer experience through Dubai and have their baggage checked through to their final destination,” said Adnan Kazim, Emirates’ chief commercial officer.
“Emirates and Flydubai will be working together to reopen more of the world for our customers,” Kazim added.
The two airlines entered into a codeshare deal nearly three years ago. As of October 2019, two years into the partnership, more than 5.27 million passengers have benefited from connectivity on the Emirates and Flydubai network.
UAE-based airlines suspended their international flights during the coronavirus lockdown in March. The two carriers have gradually resumed their services following the lifting of restrictions.
As of last week, Emirates announced the resumption of services to 79 cities, a few of which will resume in the first week of September.
