Doha: Leading expert in entrepreneurial leadership, Dr. Shaheena Janjuha-Jivraj, has joined HEC Paris faculty in Qatar this semester. Her appointment as Associate Professor is set to accelerate world-class research and teaching in the areas of innovation, entrepreneurship and leadership with a particular focus on diversity at the Doha-based campus.

A prolific researcher, author and speaker, Dr. Janjuha-Jivraj was Associate Professor of Entrepreneurial Leadership at Henley Business School, and Senior Lecturer at Brunel University prior to joining HEC Paris. She is also a world-class business consultant, having founded two leadership consultancies with extensive global client rosters, including Fortune 500 firms.

Dr. Janjuha-Jivraj will be familiar to readers of Forbes Magazine. A regular contributor to ForbesWomen since 2018, she has authored more than 30 articles that take a data-driven approach to the latest thinking on diversity and inclusion. Her writing explores a breadth of issues and topics related to what she calls “cognitive diversity;” from the role of technology in human resources to emerging strategies to halt female and minority attrition in the workplace.

Dr. Janjuha-Jivraj’s work on policy research in the development of women leaders has contributed significantly to EU policy, and she has co-authored highly influential reports, including “Women in Leadership Across the Commonwealth” which was presented to heads of government in 2013 and 2015.

In 2016, she published Championing Women Leaders, described by Dr Michelle Harrison, CEO of WPP Government and Public Sector Practice, as “essential” reading. Her forthcoming book, Futureproofing Your Career, is due out in 2021 and will examine the “next normal,” with a focus on how adopting an ‘entrepreneurial’ mindset can help navigate the disruption caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, as well as technological upheavals ahead.

Dr. Janjuha-Jivraj’s describes her new position at HEC Paris in Qatar as a “stretch opportunity” to experience teaching and working in totally new, international environment.

And I want to further my agenda of developing thinking around how entrepreneurial leadership provides a new way to harness innovation and leadership with diverse teams.”

Shaheena Janjuha-Jivraj holds a PhD in Family Business Succession from Brunel Business School and she has attended programs at Harvard Business School and Manchester Business School. She is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts.
