Dubai: Jumeirah Group has announced the launch of a new hotel in China under the name Jumeirah Nanjing.

Located on the banks of the city’s Yangzte River, Jumeirah Nanjing is situated in the North Tower of the International Youth Cultural Centre (IYCC) of the Hexi New District, the group said in a statement released on Tuesday.

“Jumeirah Nanjing is a stunning addition to our portfolio and we are exceedingly proud to be selected as guardians of such a significant property,” Jumeirah Group’s CEO José Silva commented.

The new luxury hotel comprises 212 rooms and 49 suites, along with a variety of dining options.

Silva described the IYCC as "an architectural masterpiece and its iconic stature is truly impressive." He added that Jumeirah Nanjing would be "a remarkable destination" that was likely to support and increase tourism to the city.

The hotel "represents a significant milestone in achieving our global expansion strategy,” the top official highlighted.

Jumeirah Group, a global luxury hotel company and a member of Dubai Holding, operates and manages a portfolio of 15 properties in the Middle East, in addition to five properties in Europe and two in Asia with 18 properties currently under construction around the globe.

The UAE-based group is planning to open more properties in the Asia-Pacific region including in China and Bali.
