DUBAI — Time Out Market, the world’s first food and cultural Market rooted in editorial curation continues to expand with the opening of its seventh location in Q1 2021, Time Out Market Dubai, as part of a management agreement with Emaar Malls. Time Out Market portfolio spans iconic destinations, including its flagship in Lisbon (2014) followed by Miami, New York, Boston, Montréal and Chicago (2019).

After temporary closures in March 2020 due to the pandemic, Time Out Market locations have reopened with enhanced health and safety protocols for visitors to experience favorite local cuisines, cocktails and culture. Now, Time Out Market is looking to the future with safety at the heart of its new openings. Dubai will be the first built in the post-Covid world in Q1 2021, followed by Porto (Q4 2021), London (2022) and Prague (2023) — with further expansion plans in the works.

Time Out Media captures and showcases the diversity that represents each city. Time Out Market brings it to life through curated chefs and restaurateurs and unique cultural experiences such as demo cooking classes with top chefs and art installations from local artists to live musical performances and comedy show nights - celebrating the soul of the city. Time Out Market Dubai will be the first in the Middle East, located in Souk Al Bahar, an Arabic-style retail, entertainment and dining destination right in the heart of Downtown Dubai. The Market has a unique waterfront position on Burj Lake, next to The Dubai Mall and the iconic Burj Khalifa - the area attracts millions of visitors each year. Time Out Market Dubai will be 30,000 sq ft, featuring 17 of Dubai’s top chefs and celebrated restaurateurs, three bars and dedicated spaces for cultural experiences.

Across Time Out Market locations, enhanced health and safety precautions have been implemented for an enjoyable dining experience. This includes the latest innovation in advanced air circulation technology and state of the art fresh-air filtration systems. To ensure continuous cleanliness, there are health and safety communication vestibules at the entrance with sanitizing stations, a dedicated cleaning crew and plexiglass shields at all eatery counters and bars. To promote proper social distancing, artfully designed dividers have been inscribed with quotes from local thought leaders at all dining tables. In addition, customers can now order contactlessly via the Time Out Market app or via a delivery service.

Didier Souillat, CEO of Time Out Market commented: “At Time Out Market we take great pride in helping real estate owners drive quality footfall to their sites and engage with locals and visitors alike. The Time Out Market concept reimagines the combination of retail, restaurants and cultural experience, while also safeguarding independent businesses and talent in iconic, central locations of cities around the world.

We couldn't be more excited to partner with Emaar Malls on the new opening of Time Out Market Dubai in the beautiful Souk Al Bahar. The Time Out brand has a strong presence in Dubai with ITP Media Group whose editors were instrumental in selecting and taste testing the very best curated mix from the city’s top culinary talent. Stay tuned, as we announce the selected chefs and restaurateurs in the coming weeks. With Time Out Media, Time Out Market captures the soul of the city and brings it to life at the Market - with the highest safety standards available for locals and visitors alike to enjoy the city experience.”
