Dubai - The Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) organized a tour for the participants of the International Telecommunications Union’s (ITU) ongoing Plenipotentiary Conference (PP-18), to the capital of United Arab Emirates (UAE) - Abu Dhabi. The Conference is being held in the UAE for the first time and is running until 16th November in Dubai World Trade Center.

As part of this tour, the delegates and the guests visited important landmarks of the capital city, including Louvre Abu Dhabi, Shiekh Zayed Mosque, Emirates Palace and Yas Mall.

While visiting Louvre Abu Dhabi, the participants appreciated the memorials and archaeological treasures and expressed their admiration towards the unique cultural monuments in the museum, which combine human history and explain the partnerships that have kept the humanity together over the years.

Along the route of the tour, the buses stopped at Emirates Palace, Eithad Towers and Sheikh Zayed Mosque, familiarizing the participants with some of the most important landmarks and the rich architecture of the city.

Later the participants visited the iconic Yas Mall, which is home to some of the world’s top brands in fashion and lifestyle.

Commenting on the tour, His Excellency Hamad Obaid Al Mansoori, Director General of the TRA, said, “It was good to take the guests of the Conference to the important iconic destinations in the city of the Abu Dhabi. For the tour, we carefully selected the places of interest, in order to give the participants an insight into the cultural, economic and social side of the UAE.”

H.E. added, “The aim of this tour was to emphasize that the UAE has all the elements required for a country to lead in all fields and sectors."

He stressed that the TRA organized this tour to show the guests the unique economic integration that is in place in the U.A.E.

Plenipotentiary Conference, the key event of ITU held every four years, is this year convening representatives from 150 countries and a total of over 2300 leaders to set out a plan for 2020-2023 in terms of the latest developments in ICT.
