Cairo – Mubasher: Egypt’s housing and electricity ministries on Wednesday signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Saudi Arabia’s ACWA Power to conduct primary and feasibility studies for water desalination plants powered by renewable energy.

Following the completion of the required studies, parties will devise plans for future projects, according to a statement.

ACWA Power is a developer, investor, co-owner, and operator of a portfolio of power generation and desalinated water production plants currently with presence in 10 countries, including in the Middle East and North Africa, Southern Africa, and South East Asia regions.
