UAE:– The Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce has revealed its support and participation for this year's edition of the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair, which will take place from April 24 to April 30, 2019 at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC). In line with this, the ABCC has also announced that an Arabic version of a special anthology featuring work from 12 Brazilian authors will be released during the exciting week-long event.

According to ABCC’s senior officials, the release of the book proves to be both timely and strategic as it looks towards giving the Arab world a key glimpse of Brazilian culture and its way of life through excerpts from novels, tales, poems and unreleased texts. The anthology features prominent Brazilian literary luminaries like Milton Hatoum, Marco Lucchesi, Maria Valéria Rezende and Socorro Acioli, and previously released work by Raduan Nassar, Marcelo Maluf, Ana Miranda, Youssef Miguel, Salim Miguel, Michel Sleiman, Luciana Savaget and Whisner Fraga. The anthology’s editor and project mastermind, Mirna Queiroz, will be in attendance at the highly anticipated launch that will portray the breadth of Arab influence in Brazilian culture, as will project writers Marcelo Maluf, Ana Miranda and Marco Lucchesi.

Silvia Antibas, Culture Director, ABCC, said, “The ABCC is proud to announce the coming release of this special anthology during this year's Abu Dhabi International Book Fair, which has become the premier marketplace for the MENA region's publishing industry. We have worked closely in the production and development of this key anthology and we remain confident that it will bring us close to achieving our mission of uniting Arab and Brazilian people--bringing the culture of Brazil to the Arab world and vice versa.”

Mirna Queiroz said: “The goal is to captivate new Arab readers and engage in dialogue with them. The book’s release is also a market-oriented event, since the featured writers could eventually have their full work released in the UAE. I am a firm believer in our literature, and I think it can perfectly communicate with Arab readers.”
