His Excellency Dr. Ahmad Belhoul Al Falasi, Minister of State for Entrepreneurship and Small and Medium Enterprises, accompanied by His Excellency Major General Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri, Director General of the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai, visited Ajman Tourism’s pavilion at the Arabian Travel Market exhibition, where he was informed of the objectives of Ajman’s vision 2021, as well as the programs and plans that will contribute to its achievement.

His Excellency Dr. Ahmad Belhoul Al Falasi also followed with the pavillion’s representatives on the important tourism activities the emirate is offering to reinforce its position as a touristic destination that attracts visitors and tourists from all over the world, and the department’s role in shedding light on the cultural and touristic aspects that Ajman possesses, and the unique tourism experiences it provides to its visitors and which showcase its exclusive heritage and traditions. 

Launching of the Self-Classification System

In addition, Ajman Tourism Development Department (ATDD) announced its centralized Self-Classification System" for classification and evaluation, which will launch next July. It is a unique integrated digital system that allows hotels and accommodations to self-classify their units according to the new classification standards set by Ajman Tourism Development Department.

The system introduces the concept of corporate social responsibility to control and interact with businesses, integration of environmental and sustainable standards with identification tools, in addition to features for measuring and organizing customer feedbacks, displaying detailed information about the status of each tourism business in terms of maintenance, cleanliness, and design. This system is a platform built on accurate reports and data that provide a real-time overview of a business’s performance according to its classification category, whether individually or generally in the Emirate of Ajman.

The first launch phase will include only hotels and accommodations, with expansion plans to include other sectors in the future.

Strategic objective for the Culture Center 

The department also revealed plans to develop the “Ajman Culture Center” that is concerned with improving the cultural and artistic production, developing talents, and promoting material and abstract cultural heritage such as literature, audiovisual arts, design, and digital creation, and drafting laws, policies, and regulations for the cultural sector to reinforce its influence in the emirate, in addition to setting up cooperation frameworks between all respective local and foreign authorities and the private sector to support the sustainable development of the cultural sector.

The Ajman Culture Center aims to develop and implement projects, initiatives, and plans that contribute to the growth and improvement of Ajman’s reputation, and promote the emirate as a leading cultural destination through artistic, historical, and traditional events. The center also seeks to manifest the necessary vision and initiatives to promote Emirati values, preserve cultural heritage and customs, and support Emirati talents and innovative productions in the emirate.

Development plans for Ajman, Masfout, and Al Manama museums

The Department of Tourism Development in Ajman also announced the development of a number of major museums in the emirate, including the Ajman Museum, Masfout Museum, and Al Manama Museum, which are considered one of the most important touristic destinations in the country, visited by local and foreign tourists from all over the world.

The emirate of Ajman has transformed into an attractive tourism environment as a result of the fundamental shift over the past few years towards infrastructural projects that support the tourism sector, namely the archaeological sites that attracted large number of tourists, as well as development plans for facilities, beaches, and recreational areas.

His Excellency Saleh Mohamed Al Geziry, Director General of Ajman Tourism Development Department (ATDD), affirmed the pursuit of developing projects and proposing constructive initiatives that serve the tourism sector in the emirate to ensure Ajman’s aspiration of increasing its number of tourists and achieve the emirate’s vision. The department continues to work closely with all international institutions and businesses operating in the sector of tourism industry, and participates in many major international events related to tourism such as the Berlin Exhibition and London Exhibition, and collaborates with global representative offices to directly reach world markets. In addition to the representative offices in Britain and Russia, we are considering the possibility of expanding this representation to target other markets that export tourists.

Al Geziry added that the launch of new projects and developing museums will reinforce Ajman’s position on the tourism map as a leading destination suitable for everyone, and ensures its cultural, touristic, and investmental stature.
