Egypt's Egy Holding Developments will deliver its 700 million Egyptian pounds ($45 million) Epic commercial project in New Administrative Capital (NAC) in 2023, the company’s CEO said.

Mohamed Al-Ahwal told Zawya Projects that construction started fourth months ago and would be completed in two phases.

The project will include a shopping mall, office and medical units and hotel apartments, he said.

Al-Ahwal said EPIC is the first building in Egypt and the Middle East to achieve global Fitwel healthy building certification system.

Fitwel, originally created by the U.S. Centres for Disease Control (CDC) and Prevention and U.S. General Services Administration, is a healthy building certification system that optimises buildings to support health

The Egy CEO said the building is designed to sustainable building standards and will use 40 percent less energy and 43 percent less water compared to conventional commercial buildings in the country.

He said the project was designed in-house in partnership with ARCH-Ip, Eelectron, Daikin, and would be managed by KAD Commercial Property Management

The company is planning to launch two mixed-use projects in the NAC and New Alamien City soon, he said but declined to elaborate.
