Dubai, UAE: The British University in Dubai (BUiD) signed an agreement with Duco Digital Ltd. to provide AI and machine learning programmes with professional certifications accredited by the Chartered Institute of IT (BCS). Duco Digital is the leading online UK BCS-accredited provider of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning courses. Through this agreement, students can join any of these programmes and qualify with the BCS Essentials Certificate in AI, BCS Foundation Certificate in Artificial Intelligence, and BCS Foundation Award in Understanding Ethical Principles in the IT Profession.

Darren Winter, Director of Duco Digital and BCS accredited trainer, said: “We are truly excited to be working with The British University of Dubai. Currently there is a global shortage of trained and experienced staff that is restricting growth in the AI market, which is estimated to be worth $15.7 trillion by 2030. The British University in Dubai is offering students a fantastic opportunity to enhance their career.”

Learners enrolled with BUiD to study the BCS Essentials or BCS Foundation courses in AI & Machine Learning online will learn about the opportunities, benefits and ethical challenges as well as receiving an introduction to modelling and algorithms, and best practices.

After successfully finishing the programme, students will receive a globally recognised professional certification in AI to help develop their career opportunities. They will also receive one year of BCS Associate membership with access to professional networks and career support.

Hugh Martin, Registrar and Chief Administrative Officer, said “We are very happy with this collaboration – we were the first university in the UAE to offer a Bachelor’s programme in Artificial intelligence and with this agreement we are expanding the knowledge and experience offered to our students and the wider community.”

BUiD is committed to support the UAE’s knowledge-based economy by offering programmes and training in a wide range of important disciplines and this agreement aligns with its efforts in providing cutting-edge training in the latest areas of knowledge.
