MUSCAT: Being industry leaders in innovation and in line with their commitment to provide customers with more value, Sohar International with a vision to become a world leading Omani Service company, along with the Sultanate’s first and leading telecommunication services provider – Omantel announced their partnership with Carrefour which is operated in Oman by Majid Al Futtaim. The agreement was signed to offer e-payment services in Oman through eFloos - an easy to pay facility that was launched recently through a tie-up between Sohar International and Omantel. Carrefour will start offering eFloos payments to its customers at its hypermarket in City Centre Muscat, with plans to roll out the facility across all its stores in Oman.

The agreement was signed by Mr Khalil Al Hedaifi, Chief Retail Banking Officer representing Sohar International and Najib Haddad, Country Manager of Carrefour Oman at Majid Al Futtaim Retail, at Carrefour Oman’s head offices. The signing ceremony was attended by senior officials from the two organizations as well as Omantel, a strategic partner in the platform.

Commenting on the introduction of eFloos at their Carrefour hypermarket in City Centre Muscat, Najib Haddad, Country Manager of Carrefour Oman at Majid Al Futtaim Retail said “Together with our seamless e-commerce offering and our focus to facilitate fast, easy and secure payment options for our customers, eFloos offers customers great value in terms of quick payment and customer satisfaction. A designated team from Omatel is made readily available at Carrefour City Centre Muscat to educate customers on eFloos as well as assist them in the process of registering and using the new digital payment platform.

eFloos brings a momentous change to transactions by offering easy fund management options to customers. Its unique features include speedy cashless payments, instant money transfers, and quick movement of funds in a few simple steps. As a result, ePayment becomes a simple and handy way to pay. Working closely with Omantel, Sohar International is committed to developing new partnerships through which eFloos will be introduced, as it continues to introduce new innovations in the market.

To avail of the eFloos service, merchants can simply contact Sohar International representatives at 24957171 to arrange for the facility. End users on the other hand, can simply join by downloading the ‘eFloos’ app for iOS or Android through Apple Store and Play Store respectively, follow the easy registration steps and enjoy cashless payments at more than 200 merchants in Oman.
