Cairo –  Bilateral trade between Egypt and South Korea amounted to $1.051 billion in the first half (H1) of 2021, up by 32.2% year-on-year (YoY) from $795.6 million, the Egyptian Minister of Trade and Industry, Nevine Gamea, revealed.

Egypt's exports to South Korea rose by 11.3% YoY to $247 million in the January-June period from $222 million, Gamea added in a statement on Tuesday.

Moreover, the South Korean investments in the most populous Arab nation reached $570 million injected into 181 projects in various sectors, including industry, services, construction, communications and information technology, tourism, and agriculture, she said.

Gamea held a meeting with the South Korean Minister of Trade, Yeo Han-Koo, to explore the possible means of enhancing economic and trade relations between the two countries in the coming period.
