Cairo – The cooperation portfolio between the Egyptian government and the World Bank Group stood at $8 billion, Egypt’s Ministry of International Cooperation stated on Thursday during a meeting with executives from the group.

This amount includes $5.8 billion investments by International Bank for Reconstruction and Development and $2.2 billion investments by global financial entities, the ministry added.

International cooperation minister Rania El-Mashat held a meeting with high-ranking executives from the World Bank to present the results of the Egyptian government economic reform programme between 2016 and 2019.

The two sides discussed the cooperation strategy for the coming years, especially in sectors prioritised by Egypt, including social housing, local development, entrepreneurship, social security, transportation, healthcare, environment, and education.
