Cairo – Mubasher: Suez Oil Processing Company is currently building 12 warehouses to boost the storage capacity of petroleum products as well as a new line with a 24-inch diameter to transport petroleum products to the berth in a bid to increase import and export facilities.

A new factory for asphalt production is being established to meet the growing local demand for asphalt needed for new road projects, the company's Chairman, Hesham Fathy, said in a statement on Thursday.

This came during the general assembly headed by the Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Tarek El-Molla, to approve the company's business results for fiscal year (FY) 2020/2021.

El-Molla said that the new asphalt factory will start pilot operation in October.

The company's refined crude oil reached about 2.2 million tonnes which contributed to the production of 80- and 92- gasoline as well as mazut and diesel.

The company delivered about 76,000 tonnes of diesel and 3,000 tonnes of mazut to Nasr Petroleum Company to be exported.
