Kuwait is working on increasing its non-oil trade with Belgium which reached KWD 74 million ($244.3 million) in 2018, assistant of Kuwait's foreign minister for European affairs Waleed Ali Al-Khubeizi stated.

The GCC country is planning to increase its investments in the European county which amount to $823 million, he added, according to Al-Anba newspaper.

Al-Khubeizi praised cooperation between Belgium and Kuwait in the field of oil, noting that Kuwait Petroleum Corporation owns 404 fuel stations in the European country.

As for the development of relations between the two countries, the top official said that relations were at their best, adding that the European Union supports Kuwait in regional issues.
