Etihad Airways will screen applicants in at least ten locations in the UAE and abroad between October and November to recruit 1,000 cabin crew.

According to the airline, the international cabin crew recruitment days will be held in different cities in the UAE, Egypt, Lebanon, Russia, Spain, Italy and Netherlands.

Etihad is rebuilding its cabin crew to support its growing operations around the world as international travel demand starts to pick up.

Last May 2020, the airline was reported to have laid off hundreds of its staff, including cabin crew. Airlines around the world were forced to ground their fleet during the global lockdown last year. Since restrictions eased and borders reopened months later, travel demand has been picking up.

“The last 18 months have been incredibly difficult, however there is much to be positive about as travel restrictions ease and we ramp up operations to meet growing demand. A critical part of this is rebuilding our cabin crew team,” said Jihad Matta, head of crew performance and support at Etihad.

The airline will hold recruitment days in Abu Dhabi and Cairo on October 11, Beirut on October 17 to 18, Casablanca on October 26, Kiev and Barcelona on November 2, Athens on November 8, Milan on November 9, Amsterdam and Abu Dhabi on November 15 and Alexandria and Beirut on November 22.

“In each of these cities, we will be looking for candidates who have a passion for delivering exceptional customer service and creating memorable moments for guests. We are looking for individuals who will help grow our business and who will be united with us in bringing the world to Abu Dhabi,” Matta said.

The airline said employees who were laid off due to the pandemic are welcome to apply through the airline’s alumni programme.
