Dubai - United Arab Emirates: NorthLadder – the UAE-based auction-driven, second-hand online marketplace for pre-owned luxury assets and electronics, has today announced its partnership with Dubai Cares, part of Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives.
The partnership aims to encourage customers and corporates to donate their preloved working electronics to charity, with proceeds from the sales to be donated to Dubai Cares. The donations will be used to fund the education of children and young people in developing countries.
Dubai Cares has been working towards providing children and young people in developing countries with access to quality education. This is achieved through the funding of programs, which aim to be integrated, impactful, sustainable and scalable. Today, the UAE-based global philanthropic organization has successfully launched education programs, reaching more than 20 million beneficiaries in 60 developing countries.

The UAE has more than 10 million smartphones in circulation. As the world continues to go digital, smartphone penetration is steadily growing. On average, people replace their smartphones every 24-36 months and typically, their old devices either lie around unused or get thrown away, which is just one of the reasons for this initiative.
The campaign is now live with NorthLadder offering a home pick-up service to interested donors who can make a booking via https://northladder.com/en/dubai-cares. This charity drive is approved by the Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department (IACAD) under permit number 4053.
