Dubai:  UAE’S LuLu Group is moving ahead with its expansion plans as it opened its latest state-of-the-art hypermarkets at Nakheel’s Souq Warsan in Dubai. Ali Ibrahim, Deputy Director General of Dubai Economic Department officially inaugurated the Lulu Hypermarket at Souq Al Warsan in the presence of Yusuff Ali M.A, Chairman and Managing Director of LuLu Group, Omar Khoory, Chief Asset Officer of Nakheel and other officials.

Strategically located in close proximity of upcoming retail and entertainment destinations like Dubai Safari Park, Dragon Mart, and International City Pavilion, the 150,000 sq. feet two level hypermarket will serve catchment areas of Warsan Village, Al Khawaneej, International City Community and its nearby areas.

On the occasion, Yusuff Ali MA, Chairman of LuLu, said, “We are glad to see this beautiful store opening that will cater to a multi natonal communities residing in and around Warsan Village. Over the years of catering to different nationalities, we have seen growing demand for internationally sourced products which has prompted us to source and stock a wide range of products from all over the world available at most affordable prices in the market.”

This week itself, LuLu opened one hypermarket each in Cimone, Indonesia and Selangor, Malaysia taking the total store count of the Abu Dhabi-based retailer to 207. In the first quarter of 2021 (January – March), the Group achieved a rare distinction of opening total of 10 new hypermarkets in UAE (3), Oman (2), Saudi Arabia (1), Kuwait (1), Egypt (1), Indonesia (1) and Malaysia (1) which is expected to add positive momentum for investment and economic growth in the region.

As part of the Lulu’s expansion plans, 10 new hypermarkets are lined up to be opened in UAE alone in this year at various locations which include Buteena, Samnan in Sharjah, Riyadh City, Shamkha, Al Wathba in Abu Dhabi, Silicon Oasis, Satwa, Dubai South, Mankhool in Dubai.
