Dubai: It takes only one chance to change your entire life and that has become true for many shoppers this Dubai Shopping Festival (DSF). A normal shopping day became rewarding, and took many shoppers by surprise when their names were announced at the raffle draw organized by Dubai Gold & Jewellery Group (DGJG) at Gold Souk, Deira.

Here are a few stories from the last week winners that may inspire you too to shop for jewellery this festive season. 

A SURPRISE RING THAT TURNED INTO A NEW CAR

The raffle coupon of Indian national, Ms Priyadarshani Bipin was raffled at the second weekly draw held on the 12th January 2019. Her husband surprised her with a diamond ring on their wedding anniversary and had no idea that a bigger surprise was waiting for him – his brand new BMW car.

“When I received the call from the DGJG team congratulating me on my win, I thought it was a prank call. By the time I could react or act, I got a call from jewellery showroom and only then I believed that I have actually won.”

She added “My husband planned a surprise for me and he got a surprise in return. Both of us were shell shocked. We would like thank Dubai Gold & Jewellery Group for making our anniversary even more special and memorable. We are really excited to receive the car”

A LUCKY TO BE HUSBAND

Another lucky winner from one of the draws held last week is Mr. Babul Hussain. He won 250gm of gold from DGJG. The ecstatic Pakistani national said “I am really excited and can’t explain how lucky I am feeling right now. I am getting married next week and had bought a ring for my fiancé. Now I going to use this entire gold bar to make jewellery for her. I made a purchase of AED 750 and have won gold worth more than AED 35000. My will be wife is already lucky for me.”

THE FIRST WIN IN 17 YEARS

Living in Dubai for 17 years, Mr. Sandeep won a prize for the first time in a raffle draw. Mr. Sandeep has been participating in different competition but never won anything. He felt that this time God was kind and he would be keeping the gold bar as a memento and won’t use it for any other purpose.

He said; “I don’t intend to use this gold bar and would like to keep it with me to remind me the joy of wining and feeling special.”

This DSF, DGJG still offers shoppers an opportunity to spend AED 500 at participating gold and diamond jewellery outlet and a chance to win daily several gold bars and Samsung Smart TVs in the extended week of the DSF one lucky winner on 2nd February to take home 1 kilo of gold.
