Deadline to submit applications is 14th October 2018

Abu Dhabi, UAE: Abu Dhabi Music and Arts Foundation (ADMAF) in collaboration with the European Cultural Foundation and MitOst, invites UAE-based cultural managers, artists, curators and creatives to take part in an inspiring, engaging and collaborative programme for cultural exchange under the newly launched initiative Tandem Al Emarat. Through work done by organisations and change-makers across the UAE, sixteen cultural managers will be chosen and given the opportunity to join the one-year programme and collaborate in a space to take on multidisciplinary projects and to initiate change through culture.

The application is open to professional UAE-based cultural managers and those interested are invited to submit their applications before the 14th of October 2018, through www.admaf-tandemalemarat.org. The sixteen selected applicants will be announced in early November 2018 and invited to the Partner Forum in December, where participants will be introduced to the whole programme.

Commencing in March 2019, the intensive, one-year course will allow participants to work with numerous partners and projects to advance their creative talents and create social change through culture across the UAE. Tandem Al-Emarat will offer participants a 12-day working visit at a Tandem partner organization, 4 Tandem network and training meetings in the UAE with moderated peer to peer learning sessions and experienced trainers, tools and training in professional and organisational development. In addition, the programme will continue to offer ongoing expert advice for the development of cross-border collaborations and projects, and start-up funding of AED 6,500 for a pilot project to develop in collaboration with a Tandem partner, will be awarded.

Developed in line with ADMAF’s mandate for furthering cultural and creative growth in the region and initiating cultural dialogue for social change, Tandem Al-Emarat will introduce learning experiences for Cultural leaders that aim to result in launching creative and sustainable communities within the UAE.

Tandem was launched in 2011 as an international exchange programme for cultural managers supporting in long-term collaborations, knowledge development and networking opportunities with over 250 cultural managers from over 35 countries across Europe. There are currently five Tandem editions across the globe focusing on different regions and topics. Tandem Al-Emarat is the newest addition to the programme and will focus on the UAE.
