The United Arab Emirates University (UAEU) jumped 40 places in the QS World University Rankings 2019 where it is now ranked 350.
“UAEU’s move up the rankings shows that the university is attaining regional and global eminence by conducting cutting-edge research in areas of strategic difference to the region and the world. Our aspiration to be “the University of the Future” in the UAE stems from being the flagship higher education institute in the UAE, which contributes to the UAE government’s efforts towards realizing the UAE Vision 2021 by encouraging and supporting excellence and creativity in the fields of scientific research and technology whilst being committed to incorporating across the curriculum aspects and skills required for the fourth industrial revolution and to become the primary destination for collaboration for governmental and non-governmental agencies, organizations, industry, and international agencies,” said Prof. Mohamed Albaili, Vice Chancellor of UAEU.
UAEU is among the top 35% higher education institutions in the QS World University Rankings. The ranking uses a consistent methodological framework compiled using six simple metrics where universities performance are evaluated according to its academic reputation, employer reputation, faculty/student ratio, citations per faculty, international faculty ratio and international student ratio. The 2019 rankings show that the University has greatly enhanced its academic reputation and employer reputation. The highest weighting in a university’s performance is allotted to an institution’s Academic Reputation which evaluates the perceptions of academics from around the world regarding the best institutions in terms of teaching and research while Employer Reputation gauges the opinions of employers around the world on the institutions providing the best professionals.
The University continues in its pursuit of excellence to be among the world’s best 200 universities and seeks to be the university of choice for undergraduate and graduate education, research, training and lifelong learning.
