Links Group makes the list for third consecutive year at Dubai SME 100 Awards

19 November 2015, Dubai, UAE

Links Group, one of the UAE's leading providers of commercial facilitation and advisory services, has ranked 71st on the Dubai SME 100 List 2015 and first in the area of corporate governance. This year saw the highest level of participation in the Dubai SME 100 programme, with more than 4,000 SMEs applying for the ranking, a 49% increase since 2013.

Links Group received the accolade from His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Mohammed bin Rashid Foundation and President of the UAE National Olympic Committee at an official awards ceremony today at the Madinat Jumeirah Arena Ballroom. Links Group participated in more than one cycle of the ranking and attributes its improvement on the list to its clear growth strategy to attract foreign investment to the UAE and Qatar.

Launched under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed Rashid Al Maktoum, Dubai SME 100 acts as a platform and catalyst to identify promising SMEs. The initiative aims to celebrate Dubai's top performing SMEs to encourage continuous enterprise development, investment, and groom them to become bigger, better and sustainable enterprises; eventually developing them into large globally-oriented companies.

Participating companies were ranked based on a combination of financial and non-financial themes across six categories - business growth, financial soundness, innovation, human capital development, international orientation and corporate governance.

Established in 2002, Links Group partners, protects and enables foreign companies to enter the UAE and Qatar markets while safeguarding their status as business owners. Combining business acumen with robust legal counsel, Links Group ensures its clients are protected at all times, and that they can build a business which they own and control. It is also the only company of its kind to be associated with the Foreign Investment Office (FDI) of the Dubai Economic Department.

Links Group's operations are governed by a stringent corporate governance framework covering an ethics policy, a remuneration and fiscal committee and external audits, both financial and legal. Independent non-executive directors bring probity and independence to the board, while all executive board members are required to take external training to be certified as competent board directors. This framework ensures that all stakeholders of the Links Group business--staff, shareholders, clients and partners--operate in a fully transparent manner

Commenting on the achievement, John Martin St. Valery, Founding Partner of Links Group said: "We are honoured to have ranked first in the area of corporate governance. Our framework not only helps to protect our business interests and those of our clients, it also brings significant value to our bottom line. To have ranked 71st overall on this year's Dubai SME 100 is a fantastic achievement, considering the additional competition. This achievement underscores the success of our highly talented team and our thorough understanding of the ever-evolving industry. We look forward to further supporting the Dubai Government in its mission to have more growth-oriented, innovative, capable, and sustainable enterprises from the UAE."
