Doha, Qatar. 19 November 2015

Gulf Business Machines (GBM), the region's number one provider of IT solutions and services, today joined the Qatar Ministry of Transport in celebrating the launch of the Ministry's new website at an event attended by the Minister of Transport, Minister of Transport, His Excellency Jassim bin Saif Al Sulaiti.

The Ministry worked with GBM to design and develop the website, which was established to enhance communication between the Ministry and the community, to inform the public and other stakeholders of its activities, as well as its role in the organisation and development of land, sea and air transport.

"The launch of the Ministry of Transport's website fills me with great pride and also signals a new frontier in terms of mobility and government services in Qatar. The mechanisms of government operations are changing globally with governments across the world finding ways to better serve residents. Our website will provide more speed and efficiency through smart, digitized services for individuals, organisations, and the government itself," said the Minister of Transport, His Excellency Jassim bin Saif Al Sulaiti.

"We are extremely proud of the role that GBM played in this important initiative.  As the region's number one provider of IT solutions, we have been present in Qatar for more than 25 years and we are fully committed to assisting government institutions in Qatar to achieve the Qatar National Vision 2030," said Philippe Jarre, CEO, GBM.

The Ministry of Transport was created in June 2013 by Emiri decree and was established within the framework of the Qatar National Vision 2030. The new website accommodates all of the terms of reference, functions and services of the Ministry of Transport within detailed drop-down lists found on the menu bar.

Meanwhile, the home page of the website features an interactive map of the State of Qatar showing information about the transport networks whether on land, sea or by air.

Additionally, forms for the various licensing activities of the Ministry are available to download from the website, along with publications detailing the activities, services and procedures of the Ministry.

The website also features a careers page.  The Ministry of Transport seeks to attract professionals of high skills and expertise in order to achieve the Ministry's desired goals and thus achieve Qatar National Vision 2030.  In particular, the Ministry is interested in recruiting suitably qualified Qatari employees and providing them with appropriate jobs.

The website also features links to various social media platforms in order to allow the public a comprehensive range of ways of interacting with the Ministry and providing views and suggestions.
