Muscat, Oman, 03 November 2015: Leading exhibitions and conferences organizer Omanexpo concluded its first International Trade Exhibition Iran, held from October 27 to 29 at the Khuzestan International Exhibition Center in Khuzestan, Iran.

The products and services at the exhibition ranging from beauty, skin treatment, food, steel,  industrial, packing and packaging items, power cables wires and transformers, pipes and fittings, safety wear to general mechanical engineering, oil and gas, consultancy, banking and financial services, was an attractive come-on to more than 6,000 visitors welcomed by Omanexpo and co-organizer Khuzestan International Exhibitions Company (KIEC).

About 65 companies occupied the 2,850-square meter exhibition space, almost half of which were Omani companies under the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI) and Public Establishment for Industrial Estates (PEIE) umbrellas. The other half represented companies from Brazil, Bulgaria, Italy, Jordan, India, Palestine, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bangladesh, and the UAE.  A number of companies reported signing business contracts onsite.

An executive from Voltamp Power LLC, Oman comments "This is our first time to participate in any exhibition in Iran. We received a good visitor response to our stand, which is an encouragement for us to participate in the next edition."

Other participating companies expressed satisfaction over the high level of visitor traffic. Companies from Oman expressed gratitude to the organizers for presenting them with the opportunity to increase their products' exposure to the international market.

Rahim Jalilli, managing director, KIEC, says "It is my honor to work hand-in-hand with Omanexpo, who has seen the opportunity our rich country offers and who has paved the way for companies to take advantage of the emerging business and investment opportunities that Khuzestan province presents."

Nader Abbas, general manager, Omanexpo, remarks "We are glad with the outcome of our first international venture outside the GCC area. This is a stepping stone towards our geographic expansion plan to Asia and Africa. The next two years will see more of these events outside Oman."

"Apart from strengthening our economical relations with Iran, Trade Iran serves to provide a standard international platform to promote and showcase Oman's businesses and industries to the region and increase their representation in global markets. At the same time, we are able to bring in business and investment to Iran. We are optimistic over the potential of the Iran market, especially now that regulations are more relaxed and sanctions have been lifted. Hopefully, we will be seeing a more successful second edition with the continued support of OCCI and PEIE," he adds.

International Trade Exhibition Iran was opened by H.E. Dr. A. Moqtadaei, Khuzestan Province governor, who lauded the efforts of Omanexpo for initiating this venture.

The event was supported by the Ahwaz Chamber of Commerce, Abadan Chamber of Commerce and Khorromshahr Chamber of Commerce.
