Dubai - Friends Provident International ("FPI"), part of the Aviva group, announces today the appointment of Adrian Emery as Chief Executive Officer* with immediate effect.
Khor Hock Seng current Chief Executive Officer, Aviva Asia and Friends Provident International (FPI), will leave the Group at the end of October to join Great Eastern as its Group Chief Executive Officer, based in Singapore. While Mr Khor has only been in post as FPI CEO for a short time, he joined Aviva in early 2013 as CEO Aviva Asia and during his tenure led the turnaround of the region, delivering strong VNB growth across Aviva's core markets in Asia. Chris Wei, Executive Chairman, Aviva Asia and FPI and Global Chairman, Aviva Digital, will continue to oversee the region and lead growth strategy of both Aviva Asia and FPI.
Adrian joined Aviva in January 2015 as Director of Business Development for Global Life. In this role Adrian had responsibility for the distribution advisory capabilities for Global Life, including for the Asian markets, and most recently has helped to lead the integration of FPI into Aviva Asia.
James Tan, MD Hong Kong; Marcus Gent, MD Middle East; and Chris Gill, General Manager, SE Asia will continue in their roles at FPI.

Adrian joined Aviva in January 2015 as Director of Business Development for Global Life. In this role Adrian had responsibility for the distribution advisory capabilities for Global Life, including for the Asian markets, and also played a key role helping to lead the integration of FPI into Aviva Asia. He was appointed to Chief Executive Officer of Friends Provident International in September 2015.
Adrian began his career at AXA Sun Life in the UK working in various regional and national sales roles through to Director Level before moving to work in AXA's Australian and Asia Pacific offices.
Prior to joining Aviva, Adrian was Director of Strategic Marketing and Sales at AMP Financial Services where he was a Member of the executive team with overall responsibility for the sales and marketing of the AMP product range within Australia.
