Dubai, September 1, 2015: The University of Wollongong in Dubai (UOWD) has highlighted key masters programs that will groom students to compete successfully in Dubai's competitive job market in the run-up to Expo2020 ahead of the start of their autumn semester.

With opportunities in sectors linked to delivery and legacy plans for Expo2020, UOWD believes four of their masters programs in particular will help candidates get ahead in the competitive job openings which are attracting applicants from across the globe. Recruiters and HR departments are already focusing on the unique skill-sets and qualifications that candidates will need in order to be successful in landing one of the 275,000 jobs that are being created to service the event.

Over the next five years, Dubai will place increased demand on integrated and highly scalable logistics suppliers who can rapidly adapt themselves to support changing market conditions.  UOWD's Master of Science in Logistics program has recently been commended by the Supply Chain and Transport Awards for preparing students with the knowledge, skills and expertise that they need to effectively design and manage the supply chain and logistics operations in one of the busiest hubs in the world.

Second amongst the University's top picks for Expo2020 success is their Master of Quality Management programme. The University believe that this program will be extremely beneficial to candidates that want to harness the skill set to guarantee that Expo2020 builds and maintains a desired level of excellence. Introduced in Dubai in 1996 in association with the Dubai Quality Group (DQG), UOWD is the only university in the region to offer the program.

With 25 million visitors from across the globe expected over the course of Expo2020, UOWD's Master of International Business degree and Master of Strategic Marketing degree will also place students in an ideal position to make the most of the international opportunities the Expo will offer and help them to fast-track their career, the University contend.

Finally, as recruitment activities continue to ramp up, the Master of Strategic Human Resource Management (MSHRM) programs will help HR professionals make informed decisions on the staffing issues that Expo2020 might bring about and teach the skills needed to attract world-class candidates to their organisations.

A number of UOWD graduates who have completed these programs are now holding responsible positions, and still acknowledge the role played by UOWD in helping them in their career.

Abdulaziz Bin Karam, Masters of Quality Management and Masters in Strategic Human Resource Management graduate and Manager of Excellence and Strategy, Fujairah Municipality explains "Once I had completed my masters degree at UOWD, I got promotions at my workplace. The mode of learning encourages independent thinking and research, which enabled me to carry out my work more efficiently and effectively."

Commenting on the University's top four picks for Expo2020 success, Professor Mohamed Salem, President of UOWD said:  "As a pioneer in offering quality undergraduate and postgraduate programs tailored to the needs of a changing job market, UOWD is offering a plethora of programs in fields that offer tremendous potential in the run up to Expo2020. We have an able team that is ready to offer guidance and advice to students as we approach Expo2020. We are confident that students who take up their programs can expect brilliant results."

With a 22 year history of providing fully-accredited postgraduate programs in the region, the University also offer a further 7 masters degrees focusing on finance and accounting, business and management, engineering and information sciences and arts and humanities. All of the programs have a strong focus on strategy, leadership and developing the necessary skills to operate in a challenging and changing global environment.

UOWD's autumn semester admissions are open till 15 September 2015.
