SCM World Honors the Group with its Power of Profession Award in the 'Talent Breakthrough of the Year' Category

Dubai - UAE: 18 June, 2015

Schneider Electric, the global specialist in energy management, announced that it won SCM World's inaugural Power of Profession Award in the 'Talent Breakthrough of the Year' category.

SCM World, the supply chain talent development partner for the world's leading companies, recognized the Group for its Supply Chain Edison and Global Supply Chain Academy programs. The two talent programs were developed to support a global transformation called the Tailored Supply Chain and educated the entire organization on cross-functional supply chain expertise and leading supply chain capabilities.

From 2012 through 2014, the Tailored Supply Chain initiative reduced customer dissatisfaction on deliveries by 27 percent and raised the company's service level performance by three points. It also improved the amount of industrial productivity by generating a €340 million ($387 million) contribution per year on average to the company's performance. Schneider Electric now has a stronger bench of diverse global talent which resulted in the company making LinkedIn's top 50 "Most In Demand Company" list.

In the case of the Supply Chain Edison program, Global Supply Chain's community of experts help employees in the organization through curriculum development, instructor-led training, mentoring of junior technical staff, and leading and participating in key supply chain transformation projects. Global Supply Chain Academy, the company said, builds its offering based on the analysis of competency gaps in the Global Supply Chain organization and addresses those gaps with a comprehensive and robust curriculum, while leveraging e-learning to drive global reach and scale. According to SCM World, the two talent programs advanced through the judging process by a community vote from SCM World's 25,000 members in the semi-finalist round and by a 30+ expert panel vote in the finalist round.

Annette Clayton, Chief Supply Chain Officer, Schneider Electric said: "We are very proud of the Schneider Electric team for embracing the supply chain transformation and learning more about the roles we all have in delivering value to our customers. We are grateful and humbled by this recognition and will use the opportunity to share our best practices about these innovative programs as this is the true meaning behind the award and the underlying purpose of SCM World."

Ferran Raurich, Senior Vice President, Global Supply Chain Human Resources added: "We are honored that our talent strategy, and in particular these two programs, are recognized as being innovative and best-in-class."
