In line with Daimler's global refocusing of the Passenger Cars and Commercial Vehicles units

Emirates Motor Company (EMC), Mercedes-Benz authorized distributor in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi and the flagship company of Al Fahim Group, announces a new operating structure which has resulted in the establishment of two business units within the company: EMC Mercedes-Benz Passenger Cars (PC), led by Mr. Kamal Rafih, and EMC Daimler Commercial Vehicles (CV), now to be run by Mr. Bilal Al Ribi.

"In the last few years, Mercedes-Benz's passenger car product line has almost doubled compelling us to look at a new strategy for the world's leading luxury automotive brand. At the same time, the Daimler Commercial Vehicle line-up has seen an equally strong development, combined with the fact that new brands like Freightliner have been introduced into the UAE market," commented Mr. Frank Bernthaler, Automotive Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Al Fahim Group.

To cope with the growing opportunities for passenger cars and commercial vehicles alike, EMC has decided to provide clear focus and dedication to both businesses. This strategically important decision goes hand-in-hand with the global restructuring of the passenger cars and commercial vehicles business of Daimler AG, which as a consequence, will also provide more focus and dedication to each business unit.

"As a result, I am pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Bilal Al Ribi as the General Manager of the Commercial Vehicles Division of EMC. Formerly the General Manager of Al Fahim Group's Central Motors & Equipment (CME), Mr. Al Ribi's advancement to the position of leading EMC's commercial vehicle unit is due to the many goals he has accomplished in his two-year period with the sister company. Al Ribi's 23 years of experience is primarily around trucks and buses, in both sales and after-sales management, in the United States of American (USA) and the Middle East. Hence, we are confident Mr. Al Ribi's expertise will prove to be a great asset to EMC Commercial Vehicles."

Speaking about his new role as General Manager of EMC CV, Mr. Al Ribi stated, "I am honored by the trust Al Fahim Group has placed in me. I am looking forward to working with the team and Daimler Commercial Vehicle in delivering the highest quality of value-added services to our expanding clientele as well as generating great returns for our shareholders. Abu Dhabi is a remarkably promising market for commercial vehicles as the emirate's construction scene keeps growing, coupled with our introduction of a new heavy-duty vehicle product line."
