Abu Dhabi, 28 May 2015

Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC), BP, Shell, MASDAR, Emirates Nuclear Energy Corporation (ENEC) and ACWA Power will join leading contractors Fluor, Petrofac, and McDermott at the Energy Industries Council's (EIC) biennial event initiative for a full day of conference sessions, vendor briefings and one 2 one appointments with companies looking to do business with them.

Returning to the St. Regis Hotel & Resort on Saadiyat Island on Tuesday 2nd June, EIC Connect aims to highlight the potentially lucrative contract opportunities and identify supplier capability on major energy projects across the region.

The event is supported by Abu Dhabi National Oil Company, MASDAR, Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce, UK Trade & Investment and the British Centre for Business.

Keynote speaker, Mr. Ali Al-Jarwan, CEO of ADMA-OPCO will open the event alongside the British Ambassador to Abu Dhabi, Mr. Philip Parham to highlight the importance of the bi-lateral trade between the UAE and the UK and set the scene for the future of oil and gas in the region.

Nick Cochrane-Dyet, BP Special Advisor and the Chairman of the Steering Committee of EIC Connect, says "EIC Connect Middle East is a wonderful opportunity for companies from the UAE and the UK to showcase their capabilities, share knowledge and create new business helping to achieve even greater cooperation between the two nations.

BP, ADNOC and Mubadala will host the first of a series of conference sessions to explore the challenges facing the major oil and gas operators in today's world and pinpoint where the opportunities are despite the declining oil price.

MASDAR, Emirates Nuclear Energy Corporation (ENEC) and ACWA Power will outline opportunities for oil & gas companies in the emerging clean energy sector as the demand for more sustainable energy continues to rise.

With an increasing emphasis on local content and the need to explain the various business models to smaller companies ADNOC and Shell will lead the discussion on how multi-national suppliers can successfully work with local companies in the region, and a dedicated UAE Landing Zone will provide supporting advice for exporters wishing to gain an insight into how to do business locally.

As the UK and UAE are committed to increasing bilateral trade to £12.5billion by 2015, a 60% rise on 2010, many leading multi-national contractors have been briefed to unveil their vendor requirements in a series of seminars in the exhibition, including Fluor, Petrofac, and McDermott. Wood Group PSN, Amec Foster Wheeler, Doosan Power Systems, Mott MacDonald and Technip are all exhibiting and sourcing new technologies and innovations from suppliers on a one 2 one basis throughout the event.

EIC Connect Middle East takes place in Abu Dhabi every other year and as such, interest in the exhibition has been high and has sold out to over 40 leading companies, all looking to showcase their capability to the region's key players.

ADNOC's OPCO's will be on hand to walk through their pre-qualification processes throughout the day. The afternoon will be rounded off with a lively debate lead by ADNOC, SNC Lavalin and Endress + Hauser to give the operator, contractor and supplier views on the various contractor models.

The latest EIC Insight Reports, which provide an overview and analysis of the region's contracting activity will be brought into focus by the EIC's very own team of sector based analysts who will be available throughout the day to take enquiries and answer questions from delegates.
