Dubai, UAE: The 23rd Water, Energy, Technology, and Environment Exhibition (WETEX) and Dubai Solar Show (DSS) hosts two government entities from Chile and several major Chilean energy companies. Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) is organising WETEX and DSS under the directives of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and the patronage of HH Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Supreme Council of Energy from 5 to 7 October 2021 at Expo 2020 Dubai.

Chilean companies, the Ministry of Energy in Chile, and ProChile, the Export Promotion Bureau, will explore opportunities that the markets in the region provide to expand their green hydrogen projects. A study by McKenzie said that Chile has the lowest price for producing green hydrogen in the world. The participating organisations said that holding WETEX and DSS in conjunction with Expo 2020 Dubai will provide an ideal opportunity to build fruitful partnerships, find new investors from around the world, sign deals and enhance their investments in sustainability, innovation, clean and renewable energy.

HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of DEWA, Founder and Chairman of WETEX, said that the exhibition provides an integrated platform for companies and organisations working in the water, energy, environment, oil, gas, green buildings and environmental sustainability sectors, to showcase their products, services and innovative technologies. It will also enable them to meet decision-makers, investors and buyers to sign deals and build partnerships as well as learn about the latest technologies. The exhibition will enable visitors and exhibitors to learn about market needs, current and future projects as well as opportunities to participate in solar energy programmes in the region. The exhibition aims to promote sustainable development and building a green economy in the UAE as well as consolidate Dubai’s position in energy, water, environment and innovation.

WETEX and DSS this year has 10 country pavilions: Italy, Switzerland, Germany, South Korea, Poland, Ireland, Belgium, Chile, Saudi Arabia and Egypt. The exhibition is spread over 29,200 square metres and has more than 1,200 companies from 55 countries. Free entrance with early registration on the website www.wetex.ae is recommended.
